7 Tips on Putting Together Difficult Jigsaw Puzzles

Jigsaw puzzles can be a fun and rewarding pastime, but some puzzles can be more difficult than others. Here are 7 tips to help you when working on difficult jigsaw puzzles:

  1. Start with the edge pieces: The edge pieces of a puzzle are the easiest to identify and put together, as they have at least one straight edge. Starting with the edge pieces will give you a framework to work with and make it easier to find the pieces you need as you continue to work on the puzzle. Bonus tip: Since there are only 4 corners, don't specifically seek out the corners. If you find them while searching out the edge pieces, great. If not, you'll find them soon enough.

  2. Sort the pieces by color and pattern: Sorting the pieces by color and pattern will make it easier to find the pieces you need and will also help you to see progress more quickly.

  3. Work on small sections at a time: Don't try to tackle the whole puzzle at once. Instead, work on small sections of the puzzle at a time. This will make it less overwhelming and will help you to see progress more quickly.

  4. Use the picture on the box as a guide: The picture on the box can be a helpful guide as you work on the puzzle. If you're having trouble finding a specific piece, refer to the picture to see where it goes. Wimberley Puzzles utilize the lid and an included easel as your assembly guide.

  5. Take a break: If you're feeling stuck or frustrated, take a break. Sometimes, a fresh perspective can make all the difference. This is great life advice for anything. :)

  6. Get a partner: Having someone to work with can make the puzzle-solving experience more fun and can also help you to solve the puzzle more quickly.

  7. Try different methods: There are many different ways to approach a puzzle, and what works for one person may not work for another. If you're having trouble with a specific section of the puzzle, try a different method.
